In recent years Fox International’s reputation for producing carp fishing reels that are not only eye-catching but also highly functional and reliable has grown from strength to strength. The advantage that Fox have over most other reel manufacturers is that they actually design their reels from scratch and can therefore produce a product specifically for carp fishing, unfortunately many reels still on the market are designed for sea fishing and then marketed to the carp angler with a few aesthetic tweaks. Following the great success of Fox’s magnesium 12000XT and graphite 12000S and FS reels they were regularly inundated with requests for a smaller sized reel, that would balance better with rods of 2.75 and 3lb test curve. Many anglers love the look of a 12000 reel but really didn’t need something that big and so after two years of research and development the company are now ready to launch the stunning, matt black, understated FX11, which can be described as a scaled-down big pit reel. Fox were keen, however, to make their downsized big pit reel an all-rounder and thanks to the super-slow oscillation giving impeccable line lay you can comfortably put the FX11 onto your higher test curve casting rods and put rigs well over 150yds should you need to. In addition to the super-slow oscillation the FX11 also features a Quick Clutch on the front of the spool, allowing you to go from tight enough to cast to loose-enough to get a run with just one and half turns of the clutch, if you make it any less than this you will lose clutch definition.

The selection of excellent raw materials and state of the art surface treatments, as well as the precision in the final assembly, enable BETTINSOLI to offer a product where value for money is really unbeatable.
The firing mechanism has been studied to enable fast and safe shots, the single trigger is selective and can be both inertial or mechanical. The hammers and sears offer a second cocking position that intervenes in case the first position is damaged, a safety advantage. The same are operated by regulator coil springs with rebound. In this way, after firing, the firing pins never protrude from the breech face guaranteeing safety and favouring a smooth opening of the barrels after firing.
The hinge pins are interchangeable and the large surface locking bites contribute to the resistance and durability of the gun in years to come.
Before launching new models on the market, their guns have to undergo very strict tests both in the factory and in the Gardone V.T. National Proof House.
No gun whatsoever will pass if it does not fully meet the requirements enforced by the law plus the quality demands, performance and reliability that are preset by the company.
When each gun is put in to production, it is subject to many visual checks and dimensional measurements.
Additionally, several guns are subject to tests such as excess pressure and obstruction to guarantee sturdiness and reliability.
All the guns are subject to a forced test at 1370 Bar and, on request, the National Proof House in Gardone V.T. will perform a forced test with steel shot cartridges to test the functioning and the endurance of the materials used. The barrels, made from chromium molybdenum steel, are drilled and reamed with special geometry to guarantee the maximum elasticity and excellent ballistic performance.
Furthermore, on some models the barrels are reamed in a particular way with a long forcing cone between the cartridge chamber and the barrel bore, called DualCon that, added to the particular shape of the bore of the barrel, allows the shot from the fired cartridges to adopt a superior velocity and guarantees a considerable reduction in recoil. The over and under barrels are supplied with Steel Shot specifics allowing the use of steel shot loaded cartridges.
Interchangeable chokes made from nickel plated steel alloy are available in various choke sizes and length.
